Family Planning Care
We provide full family planning services including the fitting of coils. For contraceptive advice make an appointment in your Doctor’s normal surgery. We prefer you to receive your Family Planning care from the surgery rather than from the Family Planning Clinic. Much of this care is preventive medicine and it makes good sense to receive it from the same Doctor who is giving you general medical care.
Maternity Care
We provide full ante-natal and post-natal care at Blackhall and Peterlee. Weekly ante-natal clinics are run by the Midwife at Blackahall only. Parentcraft sessions are run by the Community Midwives and Health Visitors – ask for details at either surgery.
Child Health Services
Development assessment clinics are run at least twice a month by our Doctors. Babies are routinely examined at 6-8 weeks, 7 months, 18 months and 3 years. Immunisations: Parents, whose babies are registered with us, will be notified automatically when immunisations are due. Childhood immunisation clinics are held at Blackhall and Peterlee.
Minor Operations
Many of these can be carried out at the surgery by the Doctors rather than referral to Hospital. These are discussed with your Doctor during a standard appointment and a further appointment will be arranged with the Doctor and Practice Nurse.
Minor surgeries available include:
- Liquid Nitrogen therapy for verrucas, skin lesions or warts.
- Joint Injections
- Removal of skin tags
Please book a standard GP appointment with either Dr Armstrong, Dr Laloo or Dr Sidhu to discuss treatment options.
Dermatology
Dr Laloo is a specialist in Dermatology, if you have any moles or skin irritations please book an appointment with Dr Laloo.
